The Mohaka River bisects this block. The contour of the terrain is moderate. The area north of the Mohaka River (airstrip side) has Manuka scrub with very productive pockets of Beech forest, across the river is a fringe of mature Manuka then Beech forest.
The predominant large game animal is Sika Deer with the occasional Red Deer.
There is good access to the Mohaka River. There are normally good numbers of Rainbow and Brown Trout, both fly and spinner fishing are allowed during the season (1st October to 30th June). A flying-fox provides all weather access across the Mohaka River.
