Bear's name comes from the WWII fighter aeroplane called the Grumman BearCat, strong and reliable always a fighter but really its because he's just a big huggy Teddy Bear.
Over the year's Bear befriended so many animals from Sika fawns to wild cats. I called him my 'Cat Whisperer', if it wasn't for his gentle relaxing ways I don't think I could have tamed the 11 wild cats who became our friends and lived with us. One cry from Bear and a wild cat became a pussycat, the most moving moment was when Bear meet a mother wild cat in an open paddock, they stopped and looked at each other, touched noses and the wild cat carried on her way without fear.
Bear loved to tramp in the bush, swim in the lake and hunt rabbits in the paddocks.

Bear suffered from bad elbow dysphasia in his right elbow UAP and FCP which was operated on at 14 months but it turned into not being the best option for him as he limped in later life. He also suffered from very bad skin problems all his life but in the last 4 years of his life he had relief in a drug called Atopica, this drug gave me back my dog and gave Bear a lot of relief.
